"I graduated from UC Davis with my bachelors in Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior with a minor in Chicano Studies in 2016. I have been tutoring for 9 years. I cover all subjects up to 8th grade. I tutor: Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Trigonometry, Common Core - All levels, editing essays, Calc AB/BC (21A), 21B, 21C, Statistics, Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Chemistry, Physiology, and Physics. Most of my experience is one on one, but I have worked in classroom settings as well. The first was with first graders and helping the teacher with reading circles. I have also taught large groups of children from first grade to 5th grade of classroom sizes of 8 to 50. As for my one on one experiences, they range from elementary school students to adults re-entering school to pursue higher education! With each student I do my best to appropriately get to know them and make the material easy to understand. Every student is met with patience and understanding. I work on making an environment where they are comfortable, so they can understand and make mistakes! From the mistakes I can see what I need to educate them on, so that they have clarity. I also work with my students and their internal voice of "I CAN'T" to "I CAN" because the reality of life is we will consistently be met with obstacles. We first have to know how to help ourselves in how we feel, then take the steps to learn the information necessary to move forward. From there, we have to give ourselves grace to try it again and again until we succeed. This is in everything - school and outside school. We have to be able to know how to manage these situations as some things in life we will have information before it happens and many situations we don't. Additionally, I do my best in the session as long as there is time, to go over study and organization skills. A consistent goal with every student is that they know how to find information, self learn, and implement. Why? It is a necessary skill in or outside of formal education for someone to succeed." less...
