"I went to college in Belgium, Europe and moved to the US with my family in 2016 at the age of 40.

For the past 9 years, I have mainly been teaching history. I focus on teaching both online and in person and I teach mostly AP World history, AP US history (APUSH / AP American History) and AP European history. I have also helped kids who need some direction in IB history (IA or EE) . Other than that, I specialize in teaching French, Dutch and AP Psychology. For the past 3 years, I have also been helping adults and teens who come to the Baldwin County Literacy Council in Foley to get their GED which has been a very rewarding experience.

I have been teaching in classroom settings (small groups of maximum 5 pupils) and I've been doing one on one tutoring. It's always fun to help them understand rather than memorize all subjects related to the GED.

I have built my own lesson notes and PowerPoint slides for AP world and AP US history over the years based on multiple textbooks and I have plenty of MCQs, DBQs, LEQs and SAQs to help them practice. I am very well liked by all of my students, ranging from 15 to 55 years old. My method of teaching revolves around understanding, rather than memorizing. Putting links between different events helps them understand and avoids the process of memorizing.

I love history and I love tutoring in general and if I can, I want my students to be as excited about history as I am. The most important thing about teaching is teaching the kids to believe in themselves. The material is never as hard as they originally believed it to be and with a little push, they will be on their way to succeed whatever they set their minds to.
