"Hello my name is James. I am a graduate of Western Kentucky University and have a degree in Asian Religious studies and Art history. I believe that a well rounded education must include a foundational knowledge of the arts. My job is to make the sometimes hard to understand concepts that drive the development of art over the centuries easy to understand and show the importance that this knowledge has on the everyday life of the student.

The subject of Art history can be overwhelming for some students due to the amount of material that is out there. I strive to condense and filter this abundance of information and tailor it to each student's needs. If I've done my job correctly, my students will walk away with a new found appreciation for the arts classical and otherwise, and see how art informs our world on a daily basis.

What makes me a good art history teacher is the fact that not only do I have a deep understanding of the history and development of art, but I also am a working visual artist with hands on experience in the art business. This allows me to bring a multi-dimensional approach to the way I teach the subject.
