I have been tutoring different individuals in ASL since 2016 in person. Up until now, I have mostly been tutoring English as a second language, with ASL being more of a secondary focus. I also grew up with a hard-of-hearing mother who primarily taught me English Sign Language, also known as SEE, which is very different. When I became an adult, we transitioned to ASL. I found tutoring individuals in different languages to be very enjoyable, especially seeing their progress as they work toward their goals.

I have a Bachelor's in Education from the United States Institute of Language and Clerical Studies, which is in Florida. I am also TESOL-certified and have been tutoring English as a Second Language (ESL) since 2016. I have tutored ASL with people ranging from 5 to 60 years old and with different skill levels. I have mostly worked with beginners to intermediate learners in sign language. These have usually been one-on-one classes ranging from 15 minutes to 1 hour, and I prepared the material. On Wyzant, I have mostly been working with high school and college students in ASL 1–3. I would say I work best with beginners and intermediate learners, especially children, due to my experience.

Learning a new language is an amazing skill and experience. I aim to have classes that are both engaging and educational.
