My name is Adrian and I'm a proud graduate from the University of Hawaii at Manoa (Go Bows!), where I graduated magna cum laude with a B.S degree in Molecular Cell Biology. Currently, I am pursuing my graduate degree in Molecular biosciences and bioengineering at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.

During my time as a student, I've experienced different teaching methods and just as many learning methods that have helped me become the student I am today. Of course, some methods worked better than others, but I've come to realize we all are different, and we must embrace that when it comes to learning difficult things!

Over my roughly 1 year of tutoring University students in both Calculus, Pre-calculus, and algebra, I've learned that every student is capable of learning even the most difficult subjects. I have made it a very big objective of mine to ensure every student I work with leaves with great confidence in themselves and is motivated to push themselves to their full potential. My experience includes being a learning assistant who was in charge of leading classes of 20-30 students through lessons in college-level algebra, as well as calculus 1. Additionally, I have held private 1-1 tutoring sessions for students who wished to get specific help in calculus.

I am also very experienced in biology and have had students come for help in Biology 171/172. In each session, I ensure every learning environment is comfortable enough to make mistakes. After all that is the very thing that allows us to learn! I encourage students to make mistakes and from there we will work together to find skills and techniques that will ensure success in your subject of interest. That way we can take the stress and negative feelings we get from learning new topics and replace those feelings with curiosity and motivation to progress higher.
