"I am bilingual since 1968 and taught Spanish Conversation to DES employees. I worked for DES for 15 years before retiring in 2004. I also taught math for the Urban Corps in East Harlem New York (el barrio según Tito).

I have taught math courses ranging from arithmetic to Calculus for the last 40 years. I started teaching in New York City and continued in Arizona since 1971.

I have an MA in Secondary Ed-Math plus 60 graduate credits toward an MA in applied Math. As an undergraduate I have a BA with a major in math and minor in physics.

I have about 20 college credits in Spanish, read several classic novels and developed a 9 week Spanish curriculum course for DES employees which they could get college credit for and I had 200 state employees on my waiting list. I lived with a Spanish speaking only family in 1968 and taught math in Spanish in South America.

My basic philosophy about teaching is that I be the instigator of my students to acquire ownership and pride in their math learning and the self confidence to continue motivating their success in any endeavor.
