"I am a certified K-12 science classroom teacher who taught in the elementary, middle, and high school classrooms for 11 years. I also taught biology at the college level as an adjunct and assistant biology professor for over 8 years. I have a Ph.D in science and worked as a scientist and researcher for more than 13 years. Throughout my college and K-12 careers, I tutored students in groups and one-on-one in biology, earth science, environmental science, and, occasionally, physical science.

I understand that there are various styles of learning and I identify which style a student uses the most. Some students use a combination of styles and I tutor accordingly. I use Universal Design, Bloom's taxonomy, and Webb's Depth of Knowledge to prepare lessons in order to maximize a student's learning and mastery of the content. During the lesson, I use online resources in the form of video, illustrations, and text to assist students in understanding the topics with which they are struggling.
