"My name is Jessica, and I am a private tutor and certified classroom Language Arts and special education teacher with experience teaching and tutoring K-12 and college students. My love of teaching comes from a passion for reading and writing and a compassion for helping others become confident and successful learners.

I am a certified English teacher with over ten years of classroom experience in middle school and high school settings. In addition to working in the classroom setting, I have 20 years of experience tutoring students in all levels of middle and high school English, including advanced and AP courses, college level literature and writing courses, as well as 4th and 5th graders in reading, writing, and vocabulary. I am also certified and experienced in teaching students with learning differences in both co-taught and resource room learning environments. I have helped students with developing executive function and study skills as well as active reading strategies. I have received extensive training in the Columbia University readers and writers workshop model and advanced methods of multi-sensory instruction.
