"I have a B.S. from Tulane University, an M.S. and PhD from Iowa State University. My major for the B.S. and M.S. was Chemistry while my PhD major was in inorganic Chemistry. After two years of post doctoral studies at Texas A&M university I joined the chemistry faculty at the University of Kentucky where I taught general Chemistry and undergraduate and graduate courses in Inorganic Chemistry. I then left to manage the the small molecule crystallography laboratory at Purdue University and which I did for over thirty years. While mostly performing advanced research, I also taught several graduate courses in Crystallography and also physical-inorganic Chemistry.

Since retiring in 2016 I have helped in a conversation course in English as a second language and also tutored in algebra and chemistry. I taught introductory chemistry in 2023-2024 at Ivy Tech Junior College.

I believe understanding science and mathematics is essential for everyone to make informed decisions and live in modern society. With proper study and help it is possible to learn the required basics. I try to relate all education and tutoring to experiences of real life. I prefer to work with students based on their needs and deficiencies and not simply teach them a course.
