"Hi, I’m Liat! I graduated from Cornell University with a PhD in Chemistry studying organic and polymer chemistry. I received the Cornell University Graduate Fellowship, Bauer Scholarship Award, and the Graduate Safety Representative Catalyst Safety Prize. I also hold a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Vassar College with General and Departmental Honors. I received several awards for my coursework performance including: Chemical Rubber Company Prize for outstanding work in the Chemical Principles class, Olive M. Lambert Prize for excellence in chemistry, ACS Undergraduate Award in Inorganic Chemistry, American Chemical Society College (ACS) Recognition Award, Sigma Xi Award, and Scientific Research Honor Society.

During my undergraduate studies I was an assistant instructor for chemistry laboratory courses. I continued my role as a Teaching Assistant during my graduate studies for general and physical chemistry laboratory classes. I led students through the lab material, while connecting it to the lecture material. I also provided additional tutoring on lecture course material during weekly office hours. Students gave me positive reviews; describing me as informative, friendly, and a balance between serious and fun. Recently, I have been running one-on-one tutoring for college-level organic chemistry. I personalize my teaching approach for each student. I pride myself in creative thinking which allows me to provide unique explanations that suit each individual's needs. Notably, I have been able to help a student with spatial processing challenges learn skills and tricks to tackle organic chemistry course material.
