"After earning my Masters in Chemistry, I taught high school chemistry for ten years. During that time, I also was an a part time instructor at a local university and was a professional chemistry tutor at another university. I have since transitioned to a full time university lecturer role, responsible primarily for teaching our large first year general chemistry series. I have been teaching at the university level for seven years.
Throughout all of my teaching/tutoring experiences, students have consistently remarked that I have an extraordinary ability to break down difficult concepts into easy to understand portions. Due to my extensive experience, I also have developed a library of resources (handouts, worksheets, etc.) that will be useful aids.
I have found that students struggling with a concept often need just a small tweak to their thought processes or a small detail explained in order to push through for the “light bulb moment.” Helping that light bulb moment to occur is what keeps me in teaching!" less...
