"My name is Montana! I recently graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor's degree in Biology and a minor in English at Lafayette College. I really enjoyed my time at Lafayette College where I was able to pursue a pre-veterinary track, explore challenging courses, participate in independent research, work as a Supplemental Instruction Leader, and participate in various clubs. In having to navigate various challenging courses such as Immunology and Organic Chemistry for veterinary school, I had been able to develop various studying strategies with the support from my professors and classmates.

I have been a Supplemental Instruction Leader (same thing as a tutor) for a total of five semesters or two and a half years. I tutored both Organic Chemistry I and Organic Chemistry II. With all my sessions, I really emphasized a welcoming environment and remained flexible to the different learning styles of all my students. I have experience tutoring college-age students one-on-one or in larger settings as my tutoring sessions were open for all students in the class to attend. I like to create worksheets, exam review worksheets, or general practice problems for the students to work on as I believe that students should have ample opportunity to solidify their understanding of the subject in working through problems independently or with guidance. Besides providing practice problems, I also like to provide general overviews of a subject or studying strategies so that the student feels confident for their next exam, homework set, etc.

I really enjoy helping students to not only excel with their academics, but also to become more confident and enjoy the subject they are studying.
