"Hi there! My name is Joseph, and I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor's degree in Human Biology, and a minor in Biochemistry. While attending college with aspirations to go to medical school, I quickly realized that I had a passion for learning and teaching/assisting others taking similar classes to my own. I began to understand that learning was much more than simply absorbing the content presented in a class PowerPoint, but rather about using the appropriate tools that match a student's learning style to facilitate knowledge retention and application. I deeply believe in the importance of a good teacher to facilitate the learning process, and have used a variety of approaches to connect with students from a diverse background of cultural, ethnic, and religious differences.

I have 5 years of tutoring experience working with students at both the high school and college level. I have worked with students in the areas of biology and chemistry, and have an extensive background specifically in courses concerning human anatomy and physiology, general chemistry (AP chem), organic chemistry, biochemistry, cellular and molecular biology (AP bio), and other related courses. My approach to aiding student learning concerns 1) recognizing where the student is currently at in their learning; 2) identifying where the student wants to be; 3) understanding how the student learns best (identifying strategies and best approaches); 4) tailoring the tutoring experience to facilitate successful student outcomes.
