"Hi! I'm Kathleen, and I've been teaching and tutoring for over seven years. My passion for helping students succeed started in high school, where I tutored peers in math, science, English, and French through various honor societies. That experience taught me something crucial: everyone learns differently, and the best tutoring happens when you meet students where they are.

During my undergraduate years at Fordham University, I tutored over 50 students in C++ programming and algorithms. I learned to listen carefully to understand not just what students were struggling with, but why. Sometimes it was a small misconception that needed clearing up. Other times, students needed help developing better study strategies or building confidence. I tailored my approach to each person, creating personalized learning plans that helped students think independently and solve problems on their own.

I've also spent three summers as an instructor assistant with Kode with Klossy, teaching web development and machine learning to hundreds of students remotely and in Chicago. Working with beginners showed me the importance of breaking down complex topics into digestible pieces and celebrating small wins along the way.

I hold both a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Computer Science and Cybersecurity Engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology. I'm qualified to tutor a wide range of subjects: levels of mathematics (from algebra through differential equations), programming (Python, C++, Java, and more), and computer science fundamentals.

My teaching style is patient, encouraging, and judgment-free. I ask lots of questions to make sure you truly understand concepts rather than just memorizing steps. I want you to feel comfortable saying "I don't get it" because that's where real learning begins.
