"Hello! My name is Priya, and I’m a senior at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill majoring in Economics and Public Policy, with a minor in Business Administration. I currently serve as an Undergraduate Learning Assistant (ULA) for both Microeconomics and Macroeconomics, where I work closely with students to reinforce quantitative concepts, answer questions, and help them feel more confident in their problem-solving skills. In addition to my work at UNC, I have been tutoring math since high school, giving me several years of experience working one-on-one with students at different levels and with different learning styles.

Math can be an especially challenging subject, and I understand that frustration firsthand. Tutoring played a major role in my own academic success and helped me build the strong math foundation that I continue to rely on in my college coursework. Because of that, I’m particularly passionate about working with students who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or discouraged. I’ve seen how personalized support can completely change how a student approaches math, and I enjoy helping students reach those moments where concepts finally start to make sense.

My tutoring approach is patient, supportive, and step-by-step. Rather than rushing through problems, I focus on building understanding from the ground up and making sure students feel comfortable explaining concepts in their own words. I tailor each session to the student’s goals—whether that’s preparing for an exam, completing homework, or strengthening foundational skills, and I encourage questions throughout the process. My goal is not just to help students get the right answers, but to help them build confidence and independence so they feel prepared long after our sessions end.
