"Hello, I’m David!

I hold a PhD in Religion from Duke University, a Masters in Theological Studies from Vanderbilt Divinity School, and a BA from Western Kentucky University. I bring over 12 years of teaching and tutoring experience across middle school, high school, college, and graduate levels. I have worked as a college tutor and instructor, a teaching assistant, a substitute teacher (grades 6–12), and an English teacher in South Korea. My teaching spans religion, theology, history, classics, ethics, communication, writing, music, and test preparation.

In addition to subject tutoring, I have successfully guided students through the college and graduate admissions process, helping them clarify goals, strengthen applications, and communicate their strengths effectively. I have taught both in-person and online and pride myself on being clear, patient, and adaptable to each student’s learning style.

I focus on helping students build confidence while developing strong writing, critical thinking, and study skills. My sessions are structured, clear, and tailored to each student’s goals.
