"As a former classroom teacher with over 15 years of experience, I’m passionate about helping children build confidence and succeed academically. I hold a Master’s in English as a Second Language and graduated summa cum laude from Arizona State University with a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education. I’ve taught both in the U.S. and abroad, working with a wide range of learners, including English Language Learners, and bringing a flexible, student-centered approach to every lesson.
Throughout my career, I’ve focused on meeting students where they are—using creative strategies, hands-on tools, and real-world examples to make learning meaningful. I especially love teaching math and strive to help students understand the *why* behind the steps. Since today’s math can feel unfamiliar to many parents, I work to make it approachable for students and easier for families to support at home. In reading and writing, I guide students with thoughtful questioning and techniques that improve comprehension, build vocabulary, and strengthen overall academic habits.
Most of my classroom experience is in 4th grade, where I designed lessons across all subjects and mentored student teachers. My strengths include classroom management, curriculum development, and using technology to enhance learning. I’ve been recognized with honors such as KTAR’s “Pay Tribute to a Teacher” and ASU’s Outstanding Student Teacher Award.
Now, as a dedicated tutor, I’m excited to work closely with families to support elementary students—boosting their skills, building their confidence, and helping them thrive in the classroom." less...
