"Hello! I'm Crystal. I'm in my 17th year as an educator working with elementary and middle school students. I have an K-8 Elementary & K-12 Special Education degree, as well as a Master's Degree in Education. Most of my experience has involved students with learning disabilities or those just needing an extra boost in challenging areas. My favorite part of working with students is when they gain the confidence and knowledge they need to succeed!

Along with my teaching experience, I have been a tutor for several years. I have worked in a tutoring center, conducted online tutoring sessions, and have privately tutored as well. I'm also a mom of a child who has a learning delay, so I understand your desire of a parent to ensure your child is equipped for success.

There are many things I contribute to effective and enjoyable lessons for students. These include: getting to know and understand the student, identify the goals of our time together, and provide an amazing learning opportunity by assessing student engagement and learning, and adjusting lessons to ensure progress is made!

I believe that open communication and both parties communicating their expectations is a key to success. I have much experience in k-5 elementary instruction, especially in the areas of math, writing, vocabulary, phonics, and reading.
