"My educational journey is rooted in academic achievements, professional experiences and a genuine passion for education. Beginning with a position as lead-teacher of an early childhood classroom where I first dipped my toes into the realm of education. Years later I would pursue my undergraduate studies at Emporia State University, there I cultivated a strong foundation in pedagogical principles and classroom management techniques. This served as a springboard for all subsequent academic pursuits, leading me to obtain a Master's degree from Baker University in Instructional Technology. Armed with this knowledge, I gained insight into leveraging technology to enhance teaching and learning experiences, equipping me with innovative tools and engage and inspire my students.
Furthermore, my ESOL certification accentuates my commitment to diversity and inclusivity in education. Over the past 11 years in the classroom, I've had the privilege of teaching 2nd, 3rd, and 4th graders in both urban and suburban settings, each presenting its own set of challenges and opportunities for growth. My involvement in various extracurricular activities, such as coaching Math Wings and elementary aged cheerleading, highlights my dedication to nurturing not only academic excellence but also holistic development in my students. Additionally, my role on the building leadership team and experience as a mentor to a student teacher highlights my leadership skills and commitment to foster a supportive and collaborative learning environment. In essence, my ability to tutor is a culmination of diverse experiences, continuous learning, and an unwavering dedication to empower students to reach their full potential." less...
