"I am a Professor in the Philosophy Department of Southwest University for Nationalities (Southwest Minzu University) in Chengdu, China. I am also a visiting scholar at the Tibetan Himalayan Initiative University of Colorado in Boulder, CO. I hold a Ph.D. in Religious Studies from a Chinese University. I have taught at SWMU since 1988. During my 35 years of teaching, I have taught many classes about literature, language, culture, and history of China and Tibet. I have published three books in Tibetan or Chinese and about 50 Chinese, Tibetan, or English articles. I have spent time at several United States universities as a Visiting Research Scholar, including Harvard, Columbia, University of Virginia, and CU Boulder. I have a wealth of experience teaching students of different levels and nationalities. My classes are interactive and realistic, and students consistently like my teaching style and the wealth of knowledge I give them. I always put the teaching goals and strategies at the top of my lesson plan so every student gains new knowledge and skills in every class.

I am married to an American professional, and we live in Longmont, CO. I enjoy my university teaching and want to expand my teaching in the West to other areas. I can tutor students of different ages, levels, and majors who wish to study Chinese or Tibetan language, culture, and history.
