"Hello, I'm Lee. I graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with Bachelor's degree in English and a minor in Journalism. I've been an educator for 20 years, teaching in North Carolina and Virginia.

I began my teaching career at a small private school in Ashland, Va. I was a jack of all trades; I served as the PE teacher and an English teacher for grades K-8. The Academy was a breeding ground for the vast array of skills I would develop. As an educator, I'm fully committed to forming relationships with students. I believe that relationships allow students to thrive.

Teaching is my passion; it's one of the most rewarding jobs. Students are my favorite people. I love teaching them essential concepts in a way that allows them to understand them in-depth. After twenty years of teaching English to all ages, I've learned that the secret to keeping an audience is not just about content—it's also about creating a connection.

I've tutored off and on for over twenty years. I've taught high school for over a decade and prepped students for tests, from the SOL to the SAT. I specialize in teaching writing skills, vocabulary, and sentence structure.
