"I completed my Bachelor's of Science in Education at Kansas State University in 2025. I am currently a classroom teacher for 3rd grade students. I have a Seal of Literacy issued by the state of Kansas meaning I have extended knowledge of literacy and the process of learning to read. I am working towards a masters in Curriculum and Instruction as well.

I have tutored now privately for two years on a variety of topics and for several students. Such topics include, Pre-algebra, Grammar, Multiplication and Addition, Fractions, Essay Writing, and much more. I tend to follow 3-act math when tutoring students in math subjects whenever possible. Most literacy or reading related instruction is focused on direct instruction with the mechanics and process of reading being directly taught to the student. I have also practice gradual release when tutoring students. This process involves demonstration, focused joined work where I provide correction to misunderstandings, and then release to display grasp of the skill.

The range of students I have taught varies from 6-15 years old. Most of this has been done one on one. I have also tutored some students online. I do not have a preference for in person or online tutoring as both have benefits and deficits. I take care to build a relationship with my students. I want to understand them as people and how they operate. I use this knowledge along with proof of work to adjust instruction to best fit the student in front of me.
