"Hi, I’m Kaleisha and I am currently a senior at Baruch college. I have had over 5 years of experience being a peer mentor and tutor to elementary school, middle school and high school students. I am well rounded and knowledgeable in various areas of Math and English.

I am very patient, as well as a great listener. In addition to tutoring, I have over 4 years of experience in customer service so my communication skills are well advanced. I am also a reliable person and I always do my best to make sure my students are comfortable and learning.

I first start off my lessons with new students by getting to know them a little and also asking about their learning style. I realized that some of them won’t know, so I will go through a couple of common methods, and they will tell me which works best, or I analyze which methods work by observing them over a course of a few lessons. I will then ask them which concepts or subjects they struggle with the most and then begin tailoring my lessons to meet their needs.

I try to make my lessons interesting, and I always change them to suit my students’ needs. Based on my student and the subject I am teaching them, I make flashcards or give them my own lesson, just so they could get more comfortable with the material. I also look over homework to make sure I am teaching the appropriate lessons. I am always willing and eager to hear suggestions and feedback from both parents and students and it is always my main goal to make sure my students are getting the most knowledgeable experience from me.
