"I'm Chris! I graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor's degree in Sociology and a minor in Education Studies from UCLA. I later went on to learn my Master's degree in Education from Stanford University and my Multiple Subjects teaching credential. Now a fourth grade teacher in San Francisco, I teach whole class and small group lessons daily, and hold additional after school tutoring sessions for students who need any homework help.

As a student myself, I quickly learned that my favorite classes weren't just the topics I loved the most, rather, it was the teachers and professors who made the classes engaging and enjoyable. As a tutor and a teacher, I want to go the extra mile to provide all of my students with additional help and clarification. I'm very competitive and I love playing games, so I often try to incorporate engaging games and activities into my lesson plans whenever possible. I also like to use a gradual release of responsibility model when I teach, where I explicitly model new skills first, then guide students through practice together, and finally support them as they apply those skills independently, building both confidence and long-term understanding.
