"I am a certified elementary educator and certified elementary music teacher with several years of classroom experience working with students in grades three through five. I currently teach at Clifton Avenue Grade School, where I create engaging lessons that combine rhythm, melody, movement, and language to help students connect music with broader academic and social-emotional skills. My teaching certification and degree in education have equipped me with a strong foundation in child development, lesson design, and differentiated instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
Over the years, I have worked with hundreds of students in both group and one-on-one settings. In addition to music instruction, I provide academic support in reading, writing, and general study skills through an after-school tutoring club I organize. I have several years of classroom and tutoring experience supporting students in reading, writing, and math. I currently work with grades 3–5, where I focus on building strong foundational skills through questioning, discussion, and engaging practice activities. My tutoring approach is student-centered and reflective: I begin by identifying each learner’s goals and strengths, then use questioning techniques, modeling, and practice activities to build confidence and mastery. I believe learning should be both structured and joyful—students achieve more when they feel supported and motivated.
Alongside my work as a music educator, I continue to expand my skills in Spanish and STEM integration, bringing creativity and curiosity into every session. Whether helping a student refine rhythm patterns, strengthen comprehension, or develop consistent study habits, I aim to make each lesson purposeful, encouraging, and tailored to their growth." less...
