"I studied at the University of Florida, where I completed both my undergraduate and graduate degrees. My teaching journey began in the Peace Corps, where I taught healthy living practices to new mothers and their children. That experience inspired me to pursue my teaching certificate, and since then I’ve spent over 11 years in the classroom and 5 years focusing on one-on-one tutoring.

I specialize in early childhood and elementary education, working with students from pre-kindergarten through 4th grade. My passion lies in building strong foundations in literacy and math. I focus on helping students understand the building blocks of words—through phonics and morphology—and then guide them toward comprehension and writing. In math, I emphasize foundational number sense, mental math, and strategies for multiplication and division.

My approach is fun, engaging, and grounded in real-world connections. I never move on from a topic until there is deep, conceptual understanding. I love seeing students light up when they truly grasp a concept—and my students consistently show strong academic growth. For the last three years, my 1st and 3rd grade students have earned some of the highest international MAP scores in my school.

I am trained in the Orton-Gillingham approach for dyslexic learners and continually expand my skills through professional development. This includes Harvard’s Leading Learning course, the NCTM Virtual Conference, and training in Concept-Based Learning, Singapore Math, and early literacy.
