"I'm Karlene! I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Master's degree in Elementary Education, with a focus on reading. As I began my teaching career, I quickly learned that the classes and skills I most enjoyed as a student were not necessarily those I was most skilled at, or enjoyed, teaching. I was blessed to have skilled educators who made learning fun, and that is what I strive to do with my own students. Like the educators I enjoyed learning from, I strive to make the learning process enjoyable because students are more likely to learn and retain the information if they are enjoying the lesson and the content.

Although I have not formally tutored previously, I spend extensive time supporting my students outside of the class periods. I was utilized in my role as a teacher's assistant, prior to becoming a certified teacher, to help students struggling with the learning process as well.
