"Hi, my name is Stephanie! I graduated from Eastern Connecticut State University with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a minor is Sociology. Throughout my college career I always enjoyed Child Psychology the most. I love to study the development of children and believe that teaching is such a powerful skill to obtain.

After graduating college in 2020, the demand for online teaching was high. My first opportunity right out of college was co-teaching first grade students who chose to stay home and learn. I was responsible for teaching phonics, which I then quickly learned was something I really enjoyed doing. After one year online, I quickly found another opportunity to work as a Reading Interventionist for grades 1-5. I have almost 4 years of small group intervention experience, where I would take 3-4 students at a time and work on specific reading goals for each student. I used a combination of methods to teach such as a program called UFLI combined with my own lesson plans to cater to students need.

My main goal is to benefit my students as much as I can. With my years of teaching at a Montessori school, I have learned that students have individual ways of learning. My approach is to teach in a way that information is delivered to each student in a way that is easily receivable for them. Not all teaching styles work for each student, so seeing what works best is my approach. I am also very open to any resources or suggestions students or parents can provide.
