"I am a graduate of Whitworth University with a degree in Elementary Education and a concentration in Special Education and Theatre. I held my teaching license in the states of California, Washington, and Idaho. Though all are currently expired. After one year as a substitute teacher, I taught English to 3rd-5th graders in a public school in South Korea for two years. Since then I have taught students of various ages since including my own children. I am currently a teacher with VIPKID. I teach English to children online in China. I have been a VIPKID teacher for 4 years and have taught over 1000 unique students over that period of time. I am energetic, engaging, and know-how children learn. My most experience is with EFL children from ages 4 to 13. I am engaging and enjoy working with children. I can find their weaknesses and work with them to improve. I am gentle and encouraging. I hope to meet you soon!

I am a trained teacher from Whitworth University. Although I was unable to have a classroom of my own, I am currently teaching my own children successfully. I know the concepts and am confident in my ability to communicate how to teach them.

I have taught many children how to read without using a curriculum. I know the steps required to teach reading and I focus on their weaknesses and encourage progress. VIPKid has given me the opportunity to teach reading to non-native English speakers of all ages.
