"I am an experienced Elementary Teacher and Reading Specialist. I have taught all Elementary core subjects in public and private schools. My experience also includes small group and one-on-one intervention. I have gained considerable experience working as a Remedial Instruction Teacher for students in Reading (K-5) and Math (K-3). I assess a student’s needs to develop a specified instruction plan to strengthen the student’s academic skills.

My lessons are created with a multi-sensory approach to complement the students’ various learning styles. Each of my lessons builds upon the previously learned skills, students are taught relevant information related to their prior knowledge. I plan and provide engaging lessons, providing students opportunities to practice and reinforce these concepts.

My instructional experience includes the implementation and coordination of a very successful Reading/Mentoring Program. I received a National Exemplary Award for my students’ outstanding achievement. As a teacher, my mission is to develop a strong foundation that empowers students to love learning. I have a passion for making a positive impact on the lives of students. My students learn to believe that they can achieve, growing their confidence as they succeed in increasing their academic success! I believe the enhancement of students’ reading proficiency can help open the door for increased future opportunities.
