"Hello! My name is Jimena M., and I am a Wisconsin-licensed K–8 teacher with certifications in ESL and Bilingual Education (Spanish/English). I hold a Master’s degree in Education from Edgewood College. I am a native Spanish speaker who immigrated to the United States from Costa Rica in 4th grade, and that experience deeply shaped my passion for helping multilingual learners succeed in school and feel confident in their abilities.

I have taught students in grades K–8 in both English and Spanish, including work in dual-language and ESL settings. I specialize in tutoring Spanish, English/ESL, literacy (reading + writing), and K–8 math. I have supported students at many levels — from newcomers developing foundational English skills to emerging bilinguals strengthening academic Spanish and English literacy, to students needing additional help in math and writing. I tailor instruction to each learner’s needs, incorporate visuals and conversation-based practice, and build skills step by step to ensure deep understanding. My goal is to help students experience success, build confidence, and reach their personal and academic goals.
