"Hi, I’m Olivia! I graduated from Slippery Rock University with a Bachelor's in Education and later earned my Master’s in Education as a Reading Specialist from the same institution. As a child, I struggled with reading and needed extra support from both my teachers and outside resources. That experience shaped my path—by high school, I knew I wanted to be that same support for other students. I set a goal to become the kind of help I once needed, and I’ve been passionate about that mission ever since. I strive to create engaging and enjoyable lessons by introducing topics in fun, creative ways. I focus on delivering clear, explicit instruction while ensuring students have time to practice and apply the skills being taught. At the same time, I’m flexible and responsive, quickly adapting my approach to meet the individual needs of each student.
I have 10 years of teaching experience, including extensive opportunities to tutor one-on-one, lead small groups, and facilitate reading intervention sessions. I’ve worked with students from Kindergarten through sixth grade, primarily supporting struggling readers—both with and without IEPs. Additionally, I spent two years providing after-school tutoring, where students could receive help with homework and additional academic support based on their individual needs.
My goal is to support and benefit every student I work with. I welcome all feedback and suggestions from both students and parents, as I’m always looking to grow and improve my skills. I’m easy to reach and quick to respond—please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns." less...
