"Hi, I'm Rachael! I'm a future elementary teacher earning my bachelor's degree in elementary education and will be getting my degree this May! Throughout my college experience, I have taught and tutored many math classes, elementary through 6th grade. I truly have an amazing time helping my students learn new math skills and helping them succeed. I understand the struggle that math can be, and I want to be able to help others see math in a different perspective, it doesn't have to be difficult! That's what I'm here for, to help teach others not only how to do certain math problems, but to set them up for future success as well. I have had many college level math courses as well as courses that helped me learn how to teach math! I have also passed the EC-6 Core Math pre-exam for my teaching certification and will be taking the rest of the core exam this semester.

To say a little bit more about my background; before college, I tutored elementary students from kindergarten to fifth grade in multiple subjects, but I tutored Math the most. One of my favorite tutoring stories was when I tutored 5th grade students to prepare them for State math competitions in the state of Texas. Their teacher came to me saying that she could not figure out how to teach these students fractions to help them prepare for their competition, after I tutored them, they went on to make the finals in the state math competition, I was so proud of them!

Overall, I have about 6 years of tutoring experience, specifically in math. I've been a teacher's aid for elementary math classes every year for 4 years, where I helped the students who needed extra help, working in groups of up to 6, or independent 1 on 1 sessions. I am always very proud of my students and find great joy in helping them succeed!
