"Hi, my name is Shane! I graduated with a 3.9 GPA from the University of Miami with a Master in Healthcare Administration. I also hold an undergraduate degree from Drexel University in health sciences. I currently work in Healthcare Administration. In addition, I hold a Green Belt in Lean Six Sigma in process improvement. Although my professional career is rewarding, my passion is in teaching. I have been tutoring students in my free time for the last 11 years.

Math can be a scary subject to so many students but it is important to understand math is a friend and not a foe! I work well with kids who need extra attention with math. My knowledge and background in my professional career and my years of tutoring math have allowed me to understand problem-solving and communication with various backgrounds and age groups. I have experience in teaching in-person as well as in a remote environment online. In 2023, I helped 12 different students raise their grades in Math from failing to passing. My success comes from my years of being able to figure out how where a student has strength and to motivate them to keep pushing forward.

Grasping math early allows a student to succeed as they move on to higher-level courses. Therefore, I specialize in working with students from K-8 for the sole purpose of creating that foundation. For students who struggle with math, I start by building a core and getting them early wins to boost confidence. I make an effort for each student to leave my tutoring sessions confident in their math abilities.

I excel in addition and subtraction, multiplication, and division. In addition, I have much experience in teaching geometry, fractions, decimals, word problems, time, and money. I am also passionate about helping students with their homework or test preparation.
