"I received a B.A. in Comparative Literature from U.C. Irvine, graduating Phi Beta Kappa and a M.A. in English from the University of Virginia. I have both multiple subject and single subject teaching credentials from Concordia University. I taught 5th and 6th grade for ten years, and I have been tutoring students and teaching small classes since then.

I have more than eight years of experience tutoring individual students, and I enjoy helping students master a subject and gain confidence in their abilities, particularly in studying for tests and writing essays. I enjoy delving into the literature students are reading in their classes and assisting the students in understanding the literary works. I like to teach grammar and vocabulary as well, necessary building blocks of the English language. I am a patient and caring teacher who does my very best to help students learn and succeed in their classes. Creative writing and essay writing are two areas I'm very used to teaching.
