"Hi! I’m Teresa. I am passionate about helping students gain confidence and clarity in their studies. I graduated summa cum laude from Amherst College with a B.A. in Political Science and Asian Languages and Civilizations, and I’m currently pursuing a J.D. at NYU School of Law.

I have over eight years of tutoring and teaching experience with students of all ages. While living in Tokyo, Japan, I worked as a private English teacher for both children and adults, designing customized lessons focused on conversation, grammar, and fluency.

At Amherst College, I served as a Tutor and Grader for the Economics Department, helping my peers understand complex macroeconomic concepts and their real-world applications. In addition, as President and Head Tutor for A Better Chance – Amherst, I mentored and tutored seven talented students of color who moved to Amherst to attend the local high school. I guided through their personal and academic struggles adjusting to their rigorous course schedule, and provided them advice on their college applications.

While working in Boston over the past four years, I volunteered as a tutor at Hyde Square Task Force, working one-on-one with high school students in Algebra, Pre-Calculus, and college essay writing.

I make sure to tailor each session to a student’s goals and learning style, aiming to build confidence and long-term understanding. I believe learning should feel engaging and empowering, not stressful.
