"I am a credentialed teacher with 12 years of classroom experience teaching grades 7-12. At the middle school level, I taught 7th and 8th grade English, 7th grade history, and Yearbook/Journalism elective. In my current high school position, I have taught 9th and 10th grade English and AP English Language & Composition.

My goal as a classroom teacher and as a tutor is to help students think deeply about texts and translate those thoughts into well-constructed, effective written pieces and oral discussions/arguments. As a tutor, I use research-based strategies to help students access and master their reading, writing, and speaking assignments. For students at grade level, I can guide students to think through and complete their reading and writing homework more effectively, with a focus on digital tools, self-assessment, and confidence building.
