"My love for teaching comes from the joy in seeing my ESL/ELL students make such rapid progress as they learn English. I am well qualified, having a MATESOL (Master’s Degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages).

I have experience teaching all ages, from Kindergarten through 12th grade, and adults. I also tutor college students who are preparing for the TOEFL and/or Versant exams. I teach all levels of Writing, Grammar, Spelling, Reading, Vocabulary, Speaking /Pronunciation, and Listening. I also teach all of my students Conversation skills and Accent Reduction, which are so important.

I have lived in 3 foreign countries and know how difficult it is to learn a new language. Not only can I empathize with my students, but know firsthand which methods are effective with adults and children.

My experience also includes helping our 9-and 7-year-old sons through their own four- year linguistic immersion in French public schools in France. In Michigan, I worked as an ESL paraprofessional at an elementary school, tutoring students in all grades, K-5th. Teachers, students and parents alike appreciate my non-threatening demeanor, my patience, understanding, and fun and effective methods of teaching.

In addition, I speak French and German fluently.
