"I graduated from college earning a double major in History and English, with a strong background in research and writing. This background has provided a solid foundation for my 13 years of teaching and tutoring at the high school level. Over the years, I have taught a wide variety of social studies courses, with a primary focus on AP World History and AP Human Geography, where I’ve had the most experience and impact on students. I also have experience teaching United States History, Pre-AP World Geography, and standard World History.
In addition to my classroom experience, I have spent eight years as a College Board national Reader/Grader and Table Leader for AP World History. This role has given me valuable insight into the essay portion of the AP exams and how they are scored. I’ve used this knowledge to enhance my students' test preparation, helping them approach the exam with confidence and achieve better results. My students consistently score 20-30 points higher than the state and global average.
I believe in a student-centered approach to instruction, understanding that every student learns differently. It’s important to me to meet students where they are and accommodate their individual learning styles to help them succeed. Over the course of my career, I have taught students from a wide variety of backgrounds and with different learning needs. I strive to create a classroom environment that is inclusive, engaging, and tailored to the needs of each student that will allow them to reach their full potential." less...
