"Hi, my name is Andrew! I'm a junior pursuing a bachelor's in biomedical engineering. I started tutoring in high school, during my study hall. I tutored two classmates in pre-calculus who didn't get a strong mathematical background in algebra. I loved it! I continued to serve as an informal tutor throughout high school, where my classmates called me "Dr. Andy" for my ability to effectively explain complex concepts. I also took both AP Calculus AB and BC and earned a 5 on both exams. In college, I have tutored for a tutoring service from the makers of Khan Academy, volunteered with a free tutoring service at my university, and privately tutored students one-on-one in chemistry. I am currently employed at my university as a math tutor.
As a current college student, the feeling of being "stuck" in a particular subject or course but not being given the resources to succeed is fresh in my mind. I aim to be that resource for my students! I will work with students to identify and fill in gaps in their understanding. At the end of the day, I don't just want them to get the right answer; I want them to understand why it's right, so that they are better prepared for assessments, future courses, and careers. At the same time, I recognize that students often benefit from hearing things explained in more than one way, so I will also connect them with other resources that I have found helpful in the past. Above all, I make student's feedback my top priority. I am here to serve my students and help them reach their goals!
Feel free to reach out if you have any other questions or want to schedule a lesson! If you must cancel, I ask that you notify me at least 24 hours before the scheduled meeting time." less...
