"Hi! I'm Kristin! I have an AA in Liberal Arts with Honors and a BA in History. I went on to get my license in teaching and now have my Masters in Education with a History concentration (MEd). My college path was not a traditional one. I first majored in Computer Science, which I realized was not for me. Instead of changing my major, I dropped out. In my mid-20s, though, I went back to college and became a History teacher! I have been teaching in my current position for five years, I was a paraprofessional before that (3 years), and worked as a substitute teacher for several years while getting my degrees.

In my current role as teacher, I also teach English Language Arts (ELA) and College and Career Readiness (CCR). I work in small group settings with youth who often have had negative experiences or views of education. Many have IEPs. I feel like this makes me extra patient and able to take a different viewpoint with topics. I cater to the struggling student. My areas of expertise are US and World History, Civics/Government, Geography, essay writing, source citing, and grammar support.

I have a few years of tutoring experience, including with English Language Learner and Special Education populations. Prior to my current position, I was a Special Education Paraprofessional for three years in a public High School, placed mostly in History and ELA classes.
