"Hello! Thanks for looking! My name is Mike and I am currently a full-time math and science educator in Bethesda. I have been teaching math and science for the past 22 years and have experience teaching grades 7-12 in math and science, as well as chemistry at the college level. I have a BA in chemistry and a masters degree in science education and another masters degree in material synthesis.

As a teacher in math and science, it is important that the students build their knowledge upon topics previously learned. This is where I find many students have trouble. They may have missed a day in class or a specific topic that creates a roadblock to their understanding. The first session with a student I spend determining their previous knowledge to find out if/where these roadblocks are and begin our sessions from there.
