"Hi, I'm Abhaya! I just graduated high school with honors, and I am headed for the Purdue Engineering program. I got a 35 on my ACT, and I am a National Merit Scholarship Recipient. I have 2 years of tutoring experience with students aged 12-17. I have had multiple students who I have taught 1 on 1, specifically in Algebra II, as an independent tutor, Physics, for the National Honors Society, and AP Chemistry, where I was a Student Teaching Assistant. In these sessions, I would do a review of the homework, and whenever the student was stuck, I would explain the concept, and give a few similar practice problems to make sure the concept was understood. On top of this, I have led review sessions in which I would teach a lesson based on what students were struggling with. These sessions ranged from 5 - 30 students in Chemistry, Physics, and High School Math, ranging from Algebra I to AP Calculus. I am available to tutor in Math up through the Precalculus level as well as Chemistry.

I have always found that teachers are what make a class what it is, regardless of the subject. Even in my favorite subjects, a less-than-stellar teacher could make me lose interest. Conversely, an engaging teacher could make me want to put in my effort outside of class in any subject. I hope to be that teacher.
