Thank you for considering me as your mathematics tutor. I’ve been a classroom teacher for over 20 years, from Algebra 1 through Calculus. For half of my career I’ve been at an International Baccalaureate school where I embraced the methods of teaching through the development of mathematical knowledge, critical thinking, and logic. This approach is opposite to the standard algorithmic lessons that only teach students steps to follow without an understanding of why they’re necessary. I’ve taught both SL and HL Maths for years until IBO rewrote the curriculum, and now I teach SL and HL Analysis and Approaches.

I’ve also been teaching my favorite subject, AP Statistics, for over 14 years, with a mean AP Exam score that is consistently higher than the national average. Along with helping students understand content learned in class, I'm willing to teach new material or help students maximize points on MCQ and FRQ style questions seen on the AP Statistics Exam.

Although I approach my classroom lessons in a very developmental format, I’m more than willing to adjust my style to whichever works best for the individual student. In addition, I’m happy to help with all aspects of the learning process, whether I’m introducing a new topic, helping with homework, or helping to study for an assessment. As an IB teacher I’ve had the unique experience of guiding students through process of writing a Mathematics Exploration, and would be happy to help there too.
