"I’m Max! I am currently a university student double majoring in Chemistry and Neuroscience. I have always enjoyed school, finishing high school with a 4.9 GPA. I have been tutoring for years now, and really enjoy getting to help students reach their academic goals. Outside of one-on-one tutoring, I have worked as an AP Chemistry teaching assistant and helped to run an SAT reading and writing summer preparation class. But despite having taught in various different settings, I have always preferred tutoring one-on-one. Throughout my tutoring career, and my experiences as a student myself, I have come to the understanding that all students learn differently. There are so many different methods and styles of both teaching and learning, and every student is going to benefit from them differently. That is why I enjoy working with one student at a time; I am able to really get to know them, and help figure out how they learn. It is my goal to make learning as straight-forward, accessible, and rewarding for every student I have, and developing a personalized learning plan for each student best allows me to do that. Even when I worked as a teaching assistant for a chemistry class, I set up my office hours so that I would meet with students one-on-one, ensuring I could give them the best advice specific to their needs.
I have tutored many different subjects, including middle and high school Math, Chemistry, Biology, English, and SAT/ACT preparation. I am the most knowledgeable about chemistry and SAT/ACT topics, as those are the subjects I have taught in more formal settings as opposed to one-on-one tutoring sessions, but I am confident in my abilities to help students improve in any of these subjects. My goal is to make sure that students get the most out of their tutoring experience, so I will gladly welcome any suggestions or resources students or parents want to provide. My schedule is quite flexible and I am easy to contact, so feel free to reach out with any questions you may have, or to schedule a lesson!" less...
