I graduated from UC Berkeley majoring in Computer Science and Japanese, and I’ve had the opportunity to teach and support students in a variety of settings. I served on the teaching staff for EE 49, an introductory electrical engineering course at Berkeley. Previously, I worked as a tutor at a High School, helping students with Japanese and Math. I also have over two years of experience as a private tutor, specializing in essay writing for middle school students, and have recently worked as a substitute teacher in the Prosper area across multiple grade levels and in subjects including English and Math. I have achieved JLPT N1 certification, which is the highest level of proficiency for foreign job applicants in Japan, demonstrating advanced fluency in reading, listening, and understanding complex Japanese used in a wide range of contexts.

I've been passionate about teaching ever since I was in the public school system myself. My approach involves lesson plans that build upon fundamental concepts for sustainable and repeatable long term results. This means being patient, personalized, and focused on building both understanding and confidence in every student. I also emphasize the student being able to activate their learning independently, so that they can apply learned knowledge in pressure-heavy situations. I can also help with coaching a student's approach to the stressful college application process, especially those aiming for prestigious institutions.
