"I have a strong academic foundation that allows me to confidently tutor students preparing for the ACT as well as in music. On the ACT, I earned a composite score of 34, including perfect scores in both English and Reading. These results reflect not only my mastery of the content but also my ability to understand the structure and pacing of the exam, which are crucial skills I emphasize when working with students. In addition to standardized testing, I am a music major at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, pursuing a Bachelor of Music with Teacher Certification in Piano. This program has given me both a solid theoretical background and extensive applied training.
My teaching experience is broad and varied. I have taught one-on-one piano lessons for several years, working with students ranging from young beginners to adults. I have also worked in classroom settings, assisting with ensemble rehearsals and teaching music theory. These experiences have allowed me to adapt my teaching style to different learning environments and personalities, whether it means breaking down complex concepts into manageable steps, using creative analogies, or adjusting pacing to suit each student’s needs.
When tutoring, I aim to create a space where students feel both challenged and supported. For ACT prep, I focus on strategies that go beyond memorization, helping students approach the test with confidence and clarity. In music, I emphasize both technical skill and artistic expression, encouraging students to connect with the material in a way that is both disciplined and personal. Across both areas, I bring patience, adaptability, and a passion for helping students reach their goals." less...
