"Hello! I'm Sierra.

I graduated from the University of Wisconsin–Platteville with a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science, with a pre-veterinary emphasis. Most recently, I earned my Master of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences.

Throughout my undergraduate studies, I gained a strong foundation in biology, chemistry, and a wide range of animal science topics—including management, nutrition, anatomy and physiology, genetics, welfare, microbiology, and reproduction. My graduate coursework further deepened my understanding from both human and animal perspectives, covering advanced subjects such as anatomy, physiology, microbiology, pharmacology, cell biology, pathology, animal behavior, and even aquatic medicine.

In addition to my academic background, I have one year of tutoring experience from my senior year of high school, where I served as a band tutor and section leader for incoming freshmen. I worked with students both individually and in small groups, focusing especially on those who needed extra support as they transitioned into high school and continued their instrumental development. My passion for teaching stems from my own experience as the only French horn player in middle and early high school. With no tutor of my own, I had to teach myself—an experience that inspired me to ensure that no student feels left behind.
