"For about 30 years I ran a successful business designing Access databases, often combined with Excel Visual Basic for Applications coding. When I first went into business for myself, I taught Access, Excel, and VBA part-time for corporate clients. As my client base grew, I missed the time in the classroom! I'm mostly retired now, and the Wyzant site gets me back into the love of teaching! Years of hands-on experience in the business world is of course invaluable here when helping Wyzant students accomplish their goals.

Student needs can be any of the following:

(1) Help with a specific Excel or Access task. Examples:

- assistance with an Excel formula

- pivot table issues

- VBA code that almost works but ....

- An Access query isn't returning what you thought it would

(2) Help with projects. Examples:

- you perform a weekly task in Excel that takes a couple hours and you've often felt there must be some way to better automate this, or to at least make it more efficient!

- you've been tasked to build a database but your skills are rusty. You want someone to look over your shoulder to confirm the table design.

(3) General Skill Building. Examples:

- you work in Excel on a daily basis but have had minimal exposure to Pivot Tables and/or Power Query. You want to learn how these tools can be used.

- you have only basic skills in Excel, and want to learn more. Often "we do not know what we do not know"!

- you want to learn VBA

In ALL cases, we will focus on maximizing existing help resources. Unless you request otherwise, the mantra will be to "teach you to fish" rather than handing you the fish!

We can use data files you provide OR use mine. I have a library of materials for topcis such as VBA, formulas, pivot tables, and more. I delight in the challenge of meeting you at whatever level you are at: we can keep things as simple as needed, or dig deeper when desired!" less...
