"I have a master's degree in Italian Studies (University of Pittsburgh), and a master's degree in TESL (Kent State University). I specialize in teaching communicative Italian, as well as how Italian works as a language through grammar, effective language learning strategies, literature and culture. My academic interests are differentiated instruction, vocabulary retention, and learning theories in general. Additionally, I studied at the University of Siena, Italy, worked at Italian companies, lived in Europe for several years and traveled extensively.

My goal is to help my students become autonomous users of Italian. I value using the target language in the classroom in order to increase students’ exposure to meaningful language that is used in real life.
